Author Penelope Abbott
Penelope Abbott was born in Hornsey, London and has spent her working life as a primary school teacher and deputy head.
She attended Stevenage Girls Grammar School when her love of English was encouraged and where she received praise for her essays and poems.
An interest in Victorian and Edwardian history led her to write her first novel based on the life of a Victorian Governess. The story is set in Devon, England where she has spent many family holidays.
Penelope now lives in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and she enjoys painting, playing her violin. gardening and coffee mornings with friends.
